Funds enhance Veterans’ Bridge Home’s work to improve behavioral health for veterans seeking jobs

Raleigh, NC – Constellation Quality Health, a national health care quality consulting organization, has provided a $25,000 grant to Veterans Bridge Home in Charlotte, NC. The grant will fund holistic suicide risk assessments for approximately 600 veterans seeking employment, with the goal of improving overall health outcomes.

Veterans Bridge Home connects veterans and their families to community and resources through its network of partners, helping veterans navigate employment, create social connections, and settle their families.

“Improving behavioral health care outcomes and strengthening workforce efforts are key components of our work, so this partnership is mutually beneficial,” said Constellation President and CEO Steven Martin. “Veterans are an overlooked sector of the workforce. With its focus on mental health and research, Veterans’ Bridge Home and its efforts align with the work of our Center of Innovation.” The Constellation Center of Innovation is the research and development arm of the organization.

The importance of funding the mental health assessments is underscored by findings that show the number of veterans at risk for suicide doubled when Veterans Bridge Home implemented universal initial screenings. The Constellation grant further funds before and after assessments to determine if interventions have an impact on mental health and wellbeing.

“With Constellation’s funding, we will be able to use the moment during these assessments when veterans are addressing their job status – or economic mobility – to also take inventory of their wellbeing and identify how to improve multiple socioeconomic factors, which can account for 40% of overall wellbeing,” said Veterans’ Bridge Home Executive Director Blake Bourne.

Constellation Quality Health, a nonprofit with a 40-year legacy built on helping clients achieve quality care delivery, system performance, compliance, financial protection, and optimal outcomes, is committed to exploring the future of health care quality through applied and experimental research strategies within its Center of Innovation, providing support to identified areas of need such as the Veterans Bridge Home.
